Contracts
The Contracts module is the registry of client agreements — Master Service
Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) — and the foundation of the
billing and margin spine. Open it from the sidebar under Client & Reporting →
Contracts (/contracts).
The registry
The registry lists every contract with its number, client, type, status, end date, and renewal state. Contract status moves through a clear lifecycle:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created, not yet in force |
| Active | Activated and in effect |
| Expired | Past its end date |
| Terminated | Ended early |
From the registry you can create a contract, activate a draft, or terminate an active or draft contract. Each row links to the contract detail.
Creating a contract
The New contract panel captures the client account, contract number, type (MSA or SOW), title, start and end dates, annualized contract value (ACV), and notes.
Renewals
For active contracts, the renewal status is editable inline — Not applicable, Pending review, Under negotiation, Renewed, or Lapsed. These renewal fields feed the Executive dashboard's renewal-pipeline and upcoming-activity tiles.
This is the first slice of contract lifecycle management — the registry, lifecycle, and renewal tracking. Amendments, rate-card versioning, SLA clauses and breach tracking, document storage, volume commitments, and profitability snapshots are on the roadmap.
